You think that people fall in love with other people's light. Well, they usually do, and then, when they are introduced to what hides beneath the light, they turn and run away. This is what we all dread in love: that when we show the Shadow, the most vulnerable part of ourselves, the part we are afraid of, the part we don't understand and accept, we are going to be rejected. It is often the case, that's why we pretend so much when we are around people who love us. But sometimes it's not the light someone falls for: it's the Shadow itself. Then they are doomed, because more often than not it's them who are rejected: they dare to love the vulnerable part, the part we don't understand and accept. And yet, this is the only love that can ever made us whole: the mad and fearless feeling for the darkness that hides inside us all. June 1st, 2016
